Hi Gang,

My hope for Vital Signs has been to share informative, mostly untapped, generally light-hearted content to fuel positivity and help maintain a sense of community. So, this may seem a bit off-brand. But I’d like to acknowledge that many businesses are struggling. Leaders are struggling. People are struggling. And as Maya Angelou said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” How we treat one another in the days and months ahead will leave lasting marks.

As you’ve read, it has been a difficult week for many companies forced to reduce workforces. More of this lies ahead. I’ve so appreciated the dialogue with those of you who are navigating these realities. If we can be helpful in advising during these touch decisions, please know you can reach out confidentially. We can connect you to others who are in your shoes and to resources that may be helpful. Below, I’ve included some pieces that I hope you won’t need.

While I’ve tried not to repeat winners, these eggs had me at hello. Today’s winner is Alector’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Shehnaaz Suliman. Shehnaaz, please don’t be mad at me for sharing a second gorgeous dish… you could publish an entire cookbook by yourself. I couldn’t resist.
