Hi Gang,
It’s been a tough week. I hope everyone can take some time to reflect and just… breathe... this weekend. We need it. On the topic of breathing, I just heard the most fascinating interview with an author who wrote an entire book on how breathing impacts everything from sleep to hormones to resilience to how we store memories. There’s strong science supporting the need to sloooooowwwww. Doooooowwwwn.
That said, we are so fortunate that things have NOT slowed down for our biotech & digital health team – in fact, they are picking up (even more). Great sign for everyone in this business! I’ve so enjoyed reaching you every evening and will keep the dialogue going, but to sustain the communication (and my sanity!), Vital Signs will now pivot to a weekly publication. Please keep the provocative questions, funny memes and fabulous food creations coming!!! It’s been such fun to get to know you through this medium, and I look forward to the meaningful dialogue to come.
News & Resources
Parents everywhere are asking how to talk about racism with their children. Here are a few resources for you.
From the Community
BARDA taps Evidation Health to digitally monitor healthcare workers for early COVID-19 symptoms – Incredibly exciting news for this team. So proud to know you, Deb and Christine! 😊
Food Fight – send me yours!
Lots of two-time winners in the crowd. Loved this entry from Bill Greene (CEO of Iconic Therapeutics) for its freshness and beautiful simplicity.
Chef’s comments: “Snow pea and green bean salad with toasted coriander and Middle Eastern spices. A fabulous accompaniment to slow-roasted lamb shoulder.”

Cuteness Contest – send me yours!
In lieu of “A Little Levity” I’m sending you supreme cuteness. Thank you for this adorable submission, Lisa Decker, CBO at Atreca. Can you hear the collective, “awwwwwweeee”?
Mom’s comments: “How could we not take in these two cuties, Charlie and Chanel, who needed a home? Charlie is for Charles St. in Boston, which reflects our Massachusetts roots (and my son could not get support for his first choice, Notorious C.A.T.)! Both kids agreed on Chanel, the first thing they’ve agreed on in years.” (Be careful with that, Lisa… this could start a dangerous buying habit!)

Be well,

Jackie
