Hi Gang,

I was catching up with a new team member today, which had me thinking back to what it feels like to be new. Even if you know your craft well, being new is exhausting. New IT systems, new coworkers, new acronyms… all the ‘work hacks’ we devised previously are out the window. Everything takes longer than it should, and the most mundane tasks prove humbling. Impostor Syndrome flares up. I used to think I was pretty good at this, but…

We’re living in a time when everyone is new. New at leading remotely. New at building relationships via video. New at trying to keep people engaged and focused during a global crisis. New at helping our kids learn online. Even if you’ve been in a few of these situations before, you’ve never been in all of them at once! Nor has your team or your business partners or your family. So, a little forgiveness is in order today (and every day).

Food Fightsend me yours!

Today’s winner is my former partner-in-crime at GLG. I love her ability to improv AND put her mini-me to work. Nice job, Laila Rehan, Global Enablement Lead at IBM Watson Health!

Chef’s comments: “When Instacart sends you cinnamon applesauce instead of unsweetened applesauce, you make applesauce muffins. We’re in a pandemic, people – no food goes to waste!”

A Little Levity

Even cat-haters like cat videos. So, that’s the theme today!

Be well,

Jackie
